Nora Grant – Imperial Granum Food

This is a picture of Nora Grant Tibbitts at about one year old.  Notice the container of Imperial Granum Food.  This was a wheat and milk gruel that was “recommended for nursing mothers, babies, and invalids”  According to the Lake Country Museum website, it was first dissolve in formula and then later fed as a cereal when a child was 6 months old.  Mark Twain mentioned it in his writings!
